 Policies and Procedures

What are the grading policies?

•Affective: ( Attitude and sportsmanship): Be polite. Work in class with energy and enthusiasm and respect for other's abilities. Weighted 25%.

•Cognitive: Be prepared for tests, quizzes, and homework. Weighted 25%.

•Psychomotor: Be productive: participate in class with a desire to excel. Weighted 25%.

•Responsibility: Be prepared: bring the uniform to each class. Be prompt to class. Weighted 25%.
 

Is there a required uniform? What if students forget their uniform?
•It is a part of every students' Physical Education homework to remember their Physical Education clothes: t-shirt, red or black shorts, tennis shoes, and socks.

•If it is forgotten, students must borrow clothes from the locker room office.

•The first borrow will cause a 5% deduction from the responsibility grade.

•Each additional borrow will cause an additional deduction from the responsibility grade.

•In addition to the deduction of points, students will complete a verbal Time Out 1 plans for the first borrow.

•The second borrow will result in completing a Time Out 2 plan.

•The third or more borrows will result in being sent to Time Out 3 to complete a plan.

•Students must remember to bring the proper shoes with them to class. If they do not have appropriate shoe attire, the Time Out policy and point deductions mentioned above will be implemented.
 

Do students have to shower after class?
•Students do not have to take a shower, but it is encouraged.

•Enough time will be provided to take a quick shower.

•You should bring your own grooming needs in plastic containers.
 

What to do if a student is excused?
•After 2 consecutive parental/ guardian excuses, a student must have a medical excuse or be prepared to take class.

•A student does not need to change for class if they are excused.

•If a student is excused from Physical Education class, he/she cannot participate in school-sponsored extracurricular sports.
 

How can students keep their property safe?
•Students may use a lock on a locker but only during their Physical Education class.

•Do not use the lock from your school locker.

•Leave jewelry and other valuables at home or in your school locker.

•Take responsibility for your own possessions.
 

Other information that students need to know.
•Class cycles: Eighth grade students have class every other day. Sixth and seventh grade students have class every third day of the six day cycle.

•Attendance: Each student will have approximately 5 minutes to change at the beginning and end of each class.
